Démonos is an avantgarde black metal project initiated years ago but formalized in 2015. This is a tenth year anniversary offering and I've been fortunate to make music with some incredible musicians and brilliant minds. Démonos is an alter ego and everything that I am not and cannot be in the physical material form. I met Biswajit Duley of the quaint Agarbandh villa I met Biswajit Duley of the quaint Agarbandh village in Salboni, at the Goswami Sound System Controller Room tent. Here he patiently waited for us, unlike others, and spoke softly in cultured Bangla, "I have an ardent request if we can have your presence at our humble home for tea and dinner tonight?" Quickly we got whisked away from the maddening crowd and deafening bass and chaos-sphere to his cluster of tribal huts where he introduced me and @lewis.khan to his entire family, relatives and extended members - some who lived in their hut and the next hut, and the next. Ours had a rooster tied to one of the beds and an idol of Karthikeya god in the living space whom he considered his son and took care of well. They exclaimed that we were probably the only ones from the outside world 'to be kind enough to grace their handmade homes'. Every uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, and the graceful wife of Biswajit shook hands and blessed us. They knew us from last week's youtube vlogs! Viva le Smartphone revolution! Our expressions probably are proof of this overwhelming experience. Biswajit was literally in tears when we headed out. Salboni's dense teak wood forest landscape has seen anti-capitalist rebellions, Maoist extremism, tribal exploitation by both the left and the govt., assassination attempts on an earlier CM and until last week there was a tiger on the prowl who had escaped from Jharkhand. Disclaimer : This wasn't a planned premeditated touristic ploy of 'meet the tribals with your urban gaze' that Bengalis hound to, with travel agencies.
